Delete your account

Four ways to ask — in the app, on the website, by an e-mailed link if you cannot sign in, or by writing to us. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

In the app (iPhone or Android)

Open Settings and press Delete my data — the last block of the screen, «My data and privacy». Deleting does not stop a store subscription — cancel it in the store (iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Android: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions). The button reminds you and offers that screen, or Delete now: the account goes at once, and the store keeps billing until you cancel there.

On the website

Sign in at mafiavoice.com, open your account, and press Delete my data — the Security tab › My data and privacy. Same rule: an active subscription needs cancelling first — the Subscription tab, Cancel the subscription.

Cannot sign in? By an e-mailed link

Type the address of the account. We send a letter with a link; the link opens this page with one button, and nothing is deleted until you press it. Only the owner of the mailbox can do that, so nobody can delete somebody else's account. The link works once, for 10 minutes. We give the same answer for every address, so this form never tells anyone whether an account exists.

By writing to us

No account to sign into, or would rather ask a person? Write to us and ask for your account and data to be deleted — same result, done for you.

What's deleted at once

Your profile, your email address, every game you played, every coach read, your lesson progress, and any club link — gone from the live database the moment deletion goes through. Nobody can bring the account back, not even on request. Your name and face also leave the results of the people you played with: they keep only your seat number.

Backups

The database is copied every night, only so the service can be restored if the server is lost. A copy that already exists is not edited: it ages out. The server keeps its nightly copies for 7 days, and the copies taken before an update for up to 60 days (the ten newest); the operator's own copies — the last 14 nightly ones and 8 more taken on Sundays — about 70 days. So about 70 days after deletion your data is in no copy at all. The copies are used for nothing but restoring the service.

It also happens by itself, after 24 months

If nobody signs in to an account for 24 months, we delete it — the same deletion this page describes, nothing kept back. You are told first, twice: an email to the address on the account naming the date, at least 60 days ahead, and a reminder about a week before it. Signing in once cancels it, with nothing to do and nothing to pay. A paid account is never deleted this way, nor is a club organiser's while their club is running. The privacy notice has the full rule.

What stays, and for how long

A one-way hash of your email address — never the address itself, and nothing that can be turned back into it — stays for 12 months, only to stop the same address claiming a second free trial or a second refund; if live tables were paused for you at that moment, the same hash also keeps the pause until it ends, so signing up again does not skip it. If you ever paid, the payment record itself stays for six years after the end of the tax year, kept by law, and is no longer linked to your account. If you asked for a refund, that request keeps the address for up to two years, for the same reason. A complaint you made or one that named you stays for up to 12 months without your name and without your words, so a moderation decision can still be checked. Full detail: the privacy notice.
