Ways to play Mafia online in 2026

There is no single right way to play Mafia online. It depends on who is with you, whether you would rather talk or type, and whether you want human opponents or a practice partner. This page sorts the ways into four kinds, says what each is good for, and says plainly where MafiaVoice fits and where it does not.

How we checked

Checked on 27 October 2026. Every fact about another product comes from that product’s own public listing, linked in the Sources list at the end; where we write “says”, “describes” or “lists”, that is the listing’s wording in our words. Products change, and so will this page: we plan to check it again every 90 days.

We make MafiaVoice, so we are not a neutral judge, and this page does not rank anything. Read the listings yourself. If something here is wrong, tell us on the contact page and we will fix it.

A person or an app hosts the game

For a game around one table, or on a call with friends, one person plays the host. Apps for hosts take over the bookkeeping. Mafia: Party Game Host describes itself as a tool for the host: enter the number of players, hand out the roles, and the app shows the possible actions for each character. S1

Wolfia goes one step further. Its listing says an AI moderator assigns the roles, narrates the night and the day and runs the voting, for local play with friends. S2

Live games with other people

Some apps seat you with real people. Mafia Game: Play with Friends says you play over live video, with friends or with strangers. S3 Mafia42 calls itself a chat-based social deduction game with more than 30 roles, played online from a phone. S4

Wolvesville is a werewolf-themed game, a close cousin of Mafia, for up to 16 players. Its listing mentions play with friends, games with players from around the world and ranked games. S5

Your own call or chat

Groups also play inside a call they already use. The MafiaDeck listing names remote friend groups on Discord and Zoom as one of the places to use its app. S6

We did not review Discord bots for this page, so we make no claim about them.

Practice against AI players

AI players let you play when nobody else is around. Mafia Alone is a single-player game played in chat: you and seven AI players, a round of about ten minutes, no sign-up. S7

MafiaDeck lets AI bots fill empty seats and offers solo practice; the same app also has a party mode and online play with friends, on iPhone, iPad or in a browser. S6

MafiaVerse runs in a browser with no download or sign-up, and lets you add bots to a lobby. S8

Where MafiaVoice fits

MafiaVoice belongs to the last kind. You play sport Mafia, the club game with ten seats: you and nine AI players, at a table built around speaking and listening rather than typing. After the game, a coach review goes through it with you. It runs in a web browser on a phone or a computer, in English, Ukrainian and Русский. You can also open a private room for friends, and bots fill the empty seats.

While the site is in beta (the BETA mark beside the logo), purchases are switched off on the site and in the app: nothing can be bought and nothing is charged. Instead, while the beta lasts, the paid features are free, with limits, for anyone signed in to an account: the full coach review up to 3 times a day, and up to 3 private rooms for friends at a time, each with its closed table open, with no payment and no free evenings counted.

The rules we play by, and every place where we differ from the club rulebook, are on How to play Mafia. More about the product: Facts about MafiaVoice. How rooms with friends work: Play Mafia online.
